Cognitive Performance: The online sharing of information between students
The elaboration of this paper results in a work that was carried out in the last two years looking to find an informal flow of online information exchange between students about the consumption of medicines and food supplements. The goal consists in highlighting the practices of online information exchange about the consumption of medicines and natural products, to increase their capacity of focus and memory, associated to the student´s permanent context of evaluation. The empirical object is the Portuguese blogs and online forums with the application of the content analysis technique, focusing on the discourses present in the multiple online spaces and forums found. The information was gathered in two moments: between December 2020 and January 2021; and a second moment of update in February 2022. The circulation of information related to medicine consumption practices is present in the online communities. Other than the professional’s statement, it is valued another type of knowledge that results from the concrete experience of consuming medicines for the cognitive management by the peers, facilitating the interest manifested in the improvement of performance. Through this type of approach this reality will be revealed in the student´s universe. It is concluded, in fact, the permeability of students to online platforms and a certain identity culture based on this phenomenon of sharing experiences related to the difficulties and mechanisms used to deal with specific moments, like school evaluations. The paper is based on the project financed by FCT (PTDC/SOC/30734/2017) at ISCTE-IUL, in partnership with, Egas Moniz/ CiiEM e a UP/IS-UP.
